Vivid Sydney 2017

Thursday, 22 June 2017

Back again for its ninth year, Vivid Sydney was held for a total of 23 nights from 26th May to 17th June 2017 with installations at the Sydney Opera House, The Rocks, Martin Place, Darling Harbour, Chatswood, Carriageworks, Barangaroo, Kings Cross, Taronga Zoo and The Royal Botanic Garden. I don't know why, but I left it until the last week to go again, so I was a bit worried about missing the festival because of the wet weather forecast. Luckily, the sky cleared up on the Tuesday so I rushed off after work to see the city LIGHT up another year.

This time around, I took the effort to do a little planning before I went. I "researched" the installations that I wanted to see and then mapped out a route so I knew exactly where to go. But in a nutshell, it was Circular Quay → The Rocks → Campbell's Cove → Circular Quay → The Royal Botanic Garden.

I managed to see most of the installations I wanted to see. Although I was a little peeved off by the fact that the barricades surrounding the installations was the same height as my tripod, thus blocking my view, I ended up with decent shots, which I'm happy about. I was there from about 6:15pm and left at around 8:45pm.
